According to the world, you are four years old today. But to God, you are much more than that! He planned your existence and every detail of your life even as he was creating the universe!
From the little peanut like sac we saw at our first ultrasound to the teeny tiny newborn baby ( 2.18 kg ) to a continually curious chatterbox at 4, we have watched you grow. We could never take all the credit for who you are today. We look back at some of the very foolish things we have done as first time parents and we cannot help but thank God for his all surpassing grace that he has been covering you & us with all this while.
Today, you are a thoughtful, caring, friendly little girl. You are so curious about the world around you, about big, new words, and about the facts of life. You constantly bombard us with questions that force us to stop and think about the things we take for granted. You get along with kids of any age, adapting your way of playing (as best as you can) to match your friends. Sometimes you are fiercely independent and yet sometimes you are as clingy as a baby. You love pretending to be an Aunty or an Amma to your friends and dolls. You want to grow up to be an Amma, a doctor, a teacher, and a "cooking on TV".
We can't help wonder what your future holds for you. Sometimes, we are scared when we see what the world around us is coming to. But then, when God gave you to us, He also promised us He would be there, holding your hand, leading you and us all the way through. Our prayer for you is that your understanding of your "my Jesus" would grow deeper, that you'll be best friends with your creator and heavenly father.
Just remember this : For as long as we live, your Appa and I will love you and be proud of who you are!
This song by Rachel Aldous beautifully captures what we pray for you.
