4 years!

It's been 4 wonderful years since the day Ashwin and I were married. I feel blessed!

P.S - for non-south Indians, the picture above is of the exact moment when we "tied the knot" this is the "minnu kettal" - the symbolic gesture that signifies marriage. Ashwin is tying a knot on a cord of three silk strands on which my 'minnu' (south Indian equivalent of a wedding ring) is threaded.

  3. I have seen the minnu ketta many times but failed to notice the subtleties. Can you please explain what you mean by "three silk strands threaded on my my wedding ring"? I thought the wedding ring would be on your finger, not on the back of your shoulder?? :-S

  4. @cuppa: I was married in the Marthoma tradition. The rings we wear are put on our fingers by the priest and are technically 'engagement rings'. In western weddings, the rings are the physical symbols of being married. In my tradition its the minnu.

    explanation satisfactory?
