Isaiah 43:16-21 (The Message)
This is a verse I feel compelled to share today. It is one that has given me a lot of encouragement at times when I have felt like my best laid plans were crumbling. There are references to happenings in history (as recorded in the Bible) where God worked miracles for His people - the ones he made in love. I thought "The Message" version would be easier to follow for those who are not familiar with biblical lingo.
This is what God says,
the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
who carves a path through pounding waves,
The God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
they lie down and then can't get up;
they're snuffed out like so many candles:
"Forget about what's happened;
don't keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.
It's bursting out! Don't you see it?
There it is! I'm making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say 'Thank you!'
—the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
rivers through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
the people I made especially for myself,
a people custom-made to praise me.

ReplyDeleteThanks for writing in... feels good to know that it helped you too!
wonderful uplifting message, thanks.
ReplyDeletebut I love the Authorized version of the Bible, the words seem to resonate more and etch themselves in the heart...
your earlier post was definitely a poem, because William Wordsworth said that "poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful emotions". Q.E.D.
Thanks for the message.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
